Reading Kingdom

Reading Kingdom

Reading Kingdom is an online program that teaches children ages 4-10 to read and write, with comprehension, at a 3rd-grade level. Noticeable results can be seen within 30 days of regular practice. My 5-year-old daughter loves Reading Kingdom because it’s “so much fun!” It has made a big difference for her, just in the few weeks we’ve used it. In fact, with adorable animal characters and engaging activities, she didn’t even realize that it was a learning program. And since it is a customized program it is adaptable to her particular needs. As a mom, it makes me so happy to see my daughter actively engaged in this program as I watch her confidence soar when she “masters” a skill. This program rewards the user with fun animation and sound whenever a question is answered. Ruby thinks these are hilarious and it keeps her motivated to continue. The lessons are short enough to complete while her interest is still there and they always have the option to move on and do more OR to be done for the session. She really loves it and considers it more of a fun game than an actual lesson. I am BEYOND thrilled with the program!

The program is safe because there are no pop-up ads, no chat and no links to follow. Parents can receive a weekly report by email so they know exactly where their child is when using the program. One of the great things about this program is that they offer this program as early as preschool age and even special needs learners can use the program. I also like that Reading Kingdom is clear to hear and is easy to understand, has nice graphics and they are really cute and age appropriate. This is a great program for teachers and students. Reading Kingdom expands on the traditional phonics method to teach words that cannot be sounded out phonemically (the majority of words in the English language).
The program takes your child step by step through the process of learning first how to key in the correct response, and then by teaching one word at a time with repetition. The skills learned are then reviewed to ensure retention. Once your child has mastered the mouse and can find the proper letters on the keyboard look out because they will just take off. You will get a reader report that keeps track of your child’s ability and your child has a cute little owl friend with great visuals to help decipher any unknown words.
